Using Science to Align to Strategy

It is one thing to have strategic goals but quite another thing to know what needs to be done to achieve those goals.

Science can help companies make decisions about what will have the quickest payoff and what will have the largest long-term impact in achieving strategic goals.

Valtera has valuable experience integrating all of what we do so that it has a strategic focus. All of our solutions are flexible and adaptable. We do the background research necessary to determine answers to important questions such as:

  • What kinds of skills should the people you hire possess?
  • What kinds of engagement and climate items should you use in your employee surveys?
  • Which facets of managerial performance are most critical for assessment in multi-rater feedback (360) instruments?

Canned approaches are based on generic ideas; Valtera's approaches are based on your unique strategic focus.

For example, in a recent project, Valtera used its candidate selection battery to identify the most important features of it for use in hiring new employees. We did this by administering the battery and then carefully identifying the facets of the battery that were the most significant predictors of performance for that company in that industry.

In another company the concern was for customer satisfaction. Here we designed an employee survey that identified the critical issues management needed to attend to in order to produce a service climate—which we showed, in turn, was tightly linked to customer satisfaction.
